By It appears that Microsoft developers enjoy altering the Start menu, as we have previously seen. Ads are sometimes injected, and other times new features like an account manager are added. It’s time to make adjustments once more.
The handy jump lists that show up when you right-click on app tiles in the Start menu appear to have been eliminated by the major April update for Windows 10, also known as update KB5055518. For years, Windows 10 has included this capability, which allows you to rapidly retrieve recent files related to the app in question. But now it’s gone.
It’s unknown why the recent file jump lists were taken out of the Windows 10 Start menu, and Microsoft hasn’t explained why, so it might just be a problem. This was noticed by Windows Latest.
Update KB5055518 can be uninstalled to restore the feature, but doing so would remove the update’s critical security updates.
