Lenovo looks to be releasing a new mid-range tablet soon. The new Lenovo Tab P12, which is also referred to as the Tab P12 like the one from last summer, features a “paper-like” display quality that enhances note-taking and drawing in comparison to other Android tablets.
This year, Lenovo had a packed MWC, showcasing new products from its ThinkBook, ThinkPad, and ThinkVision brands in addition to concept gadgets like the Motorola Adaptive Display Concept and the ThinkBook Transparent Display Laptop. Still, Windows Report has also learned that a redesigned Tab P12 is nearing completion. In July 2023, Lenovo launched the Tab P12, which was among the initial gadgets equipped with MediaTek’s Dimensity 7050 chipset.
Windows Report claims that the Tab P12 will make a comeback this year with the same chipset. In a similar vein, the newly released Tab P12 runs Android 13 with the promise of updates through Android 15 and retains its 10,200 mah battery.
Additionally, the model from this year will keep the quad speakers from its predecessor, as well as up to 8 GB of RAM and a USB 2.0 Type-C interface that supports up to 30 W of battery recharging. Lenovo appears to have made only minor adjustments to the Tab P12’s display in preparation for its 2024 upgrade.
Specifically, the undisclosed model is believed to include a matte display finish that Windows Report defines as a ‘paper-like anti-glare LCD’. As far as we can tell, Lenovo wants to keep the visual acuity of an IPS display while giving the new Tab P12 the appearance and feel of an E-reader or a note-taking tool when combined with the Tab Pen Plus.
Nevertheless, the display maintains its 12.7-inch diameter, 60 Hz refresh rate, 1,500:1 contrast ratio, and a native resolution of 2,944 x 1,840 pixels. Although product photos and gadget specs have been made public by Windows Report, no information regarding a launch date or price has been disclosed as of yet.
