1080p monitors will soon become obsolete, and as someone who is addicted to several monitors, I am all for it.
If you are ready to upgrade but on a tight budget, a Dell 27-inch 1440p IPS monitor is now available on Amazon for about $150. That represents a significant savings of $70 off the retail price.
Although the Dell S2725DS has a rather simple design, it is excellent for anything that requires color accuracy, such as editing images or movies, thanks to its improved size, resolution, and IPS panel—all of which are a step beyond the typical low-cost VA designs. In addition to DisplayPort, it has two HDMI ports, one of which is oddly concealed behind a plastic plate. Although this model lacks additional USB ports, the USB-C version (model S2725DC) is also available on Amazon for a fair $180.
This monitor’s tiny bezels, simple connectors, and VESA mount for a monitor arm make it an excellent choice for a second (or third) display in any desktop configuration. The tiny built-in speakers are not worth utilizing, and the 100Hz panel is a slight improvement. I would not consider this a “gaming monitor” unless it is at least 120Hz. Apart from that, it is a good bargain.
For just $150, get it today while you can. Dell is offering it for the same price on its web shop if Amazon runs out of stock, which frequently occurs during significant sales like this one. Dell’s 27-inch 1440p IPS display is available for $150.
