As Black Friday approaches, I find it difficult to resist purchasing some OLED gaming displays. I am attempting to wait another year, but it is difficult because the discounts are increasing daily. For instance, this 49-inch MSI OLED ultrawide is only $799.99 on Amazon, a significant THOUSAND BUCKS cheaper than many other 49-inch OLEDs.
The dual-QHD MPG 491CQP design most likely uses the same 49-inch, 5120 x 1440 panel as Gigabyte’s substitute. It is a touch slower than some comparable OLED displays at 144 Hz refresh and.03 ms response, but I doubt you will be using its maximum framerate on any 3D game that came out in the recent few years if you are aiming for that much resolution.
Ironically, this display is precisely twice as expensive and offers twice as much resolution as the cheapest 27-inch OLED in our list of Black Friday monitors. Nice! Additionally, it is less expensive than a 45-inch LG model with a significantly lesser resolution.
It also has excellent connections. You get USB-C with 90 watts of charging in addition to the standard DisplayPort and double HDMI, which is more than enough power, even for a powerful gaming laptop. Additionally, the display has a KVM switch and two USB-A connections for fast switching between computers or even game consoles. However, MSI’s three-year warranty on the OLED panel may be the greatest feature of the specs list.
The $300 discount on this monitor’s regular price will unlikely last past Black Friday. I would not be shocked if Amazon ran out of stock; if it happens, you can try purchasing it directly from MSI or from Best Buy (pickup is available in some places).
