Review of the Alliwava H90 Pro: This little, quiet, and potent computer

Specification

A growing number of relatively unknown manufacturers are joining the tiny PC industry. Unlike well-known manufacturers, Alliwava is a tiny supplier of mini PCs that purposefully targets a market sector that is price-to-performance oriented. Alliwava prioritizes reliable hardware in small casings, good value for money, and useful features appropriate for daily use above pricey flagship models with NPU, Thunderbolt docking, or premium gaming design. We test it during our review to check if it meets these requirements.

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 8745HS, 8 cores, 16 threads, 3.8–4.9 GHz, Zen 4 architecture, 35 watt TDP, 4 nm manufacturing
  • GPU: AMD Radeon 780M, shared memory, 12 compute units, up to 2,600 MHz
  • Memory: 32GB DDR5-4800, dual-channel, 2× SO-DIMM, expandable up to 256 GB according to the manufacturer
  • Mass storage: M.2-2280, PCIe-NVMe, 1 TB NVMe SSD
  • Cooling: MSC 2.0 vapor chamber cooling system with dust-resistant air intakes, a silent fan, and an SSD heatsink
  • Video outputs: 1 × HDMI (2.1), 1 × DisplayPort (1.4), and extra DisplayPort/Alt mode via USB-C; DP up to 8K @ 60 Hz; up to three monitors in concurrent operation
  • USB: 1 × USB 2.0, 3 × USB 3.x Gen1, 1 × USB 3.2 Gen2×2 (20 GB/s), including USB-CConnectivity: Wi-Fi 6E (MediaTek MT7922), Bluetooth 5.2, 2 × 2.5 Gbit LAN (Realtek RTL8125)
  • Operating system: Windows 11 Pro comes pre-installed and activates automatically when an internet connection is made.
  • Measurements: H × W × D = 52 × 130 × 127.5 mm
  • Weight: around 360 grams (0.8 pounds)

Design

After unpacking and initial impressions, the H90 Pro appears to be a standard IT favorite: compact enough to fit behind the monitor, but with cooling and port arrangement more akin to a full-fledged desktop. The H90 Pro has a straightforward, practical design with an aluminum tray at the bottom, a carbon-colored plastic lid at the top, and ventilation holes on the sides.

The housing is still quite small, measuring around 13 × 13 × 5.2 cm and weighing about 360 grams (0.8 lbs). In addition, Alliwava supports a complete AMD Zen 4 platform with Ryzen 7 8745HS and Radeon 780M, both of which are available for less than $700 on the street. The front has an audio connection, multiple USB ports, and a power button that is subtly lit. Because of this, the small PC is discreet enough for the workplace without looking cheap.

Under the hood, Alliwava features a newly designed metal frame with a vapor chamber, an MSC 2.0 cooling system, and dust-protected air inlets on the sides and bottom. This is where things get fascinating. In this size class, this is by no means a given. Even when there is a load, the cooling arrangement really produces extremely quiet operation.

Surprisingly well-equipped is the H90 Pro. The focal point is the integrated Radeon 780M (12 CUs, up to 2,600 MHz) and the AMD Ryzen 7 8745HS (8C/16T, 3.8-4.9 GHz, 35 watts TDP), which is based on the Zen 4 architecture. Additionally, Kingbank Technology offers a 32GB DDR5-4800 dual channel (2 × SO-DIMM, upgradeable to 256GB) and a 1 TB NVMe SSD (M.2 2280, PCIe NVMe, Gen4 according to the company, actually more in the Gen3 performance range).

Without mentioning the manufacturer, Crystal Disk Info describes the internal SSD as 1 TB NVMe PCI3 3.0 x4.

One obvious benefit is the connectivity: There are two DisplayPort outputs, two 2.5 Gbit LANs, one HDMI port, five USB connections (including a 20 GB/s port), and more. We particularly value Alliwava’s advertisement of triple display capability via HDMI 2.1, DP 1.4, and USB-C, including 8K at 60 Hz via DisplayPort.

Performance

With 6,209 points, PCMark 10 demonstrates a system that easily handles common office, online, and collaboration tasks. Productivity (8,864 points) and Essentials (9,380 points) are comparable to properly configured 8745HS or 7840HS small PCs. With 7,456 points, the Digital Content Creation area shows that photo operations, straightforward 4K editing projects, or streaming setups function well without requiring specialist GPUs.

With a distinct emphasis on office and general productivity tasks, the H90 Pro’s performance scores place it rather well among the current Ryzen 7 small PCs; nevertheless, its gaming performance is a little slower.

Conclusion

In terms of performance, the H90 Pro falls between the modern AI flagships with HX-370 or Core Ultra 9 and the vintage 5800U/5825U office boxes. Although it lacks an AI accelerator and won’t break any records for iGPU performance, the Alliwava tiny PC is robust in daily and productivity chores and (still) adequate for light gaming and content creation.
