By default, when you turn on a Windows 10 or 11 computer, you have to check in with your Microsoft account every time. Entering a password is crucial for security. Passwords are essential for laptops that you carry with you wherever you go because they make it more difficult for hackers to access your computer. However, it might not be essential to enter a password each time you use a computer if it is stationary on your desk at home.
Previously, one could choose not to log in using a program named Netplwiz, however, after the Windows 11 update, this option has been unavailable. On a lot of PCs, the option that stated “User name and password must be entered to use the computer” has vanished. Naturally, Microsoft has increased security, which is the reason for the difficulty of instantly logging in.
On the other hand, automated login is still possible for desktop computers, but it takes two more steps. This is how you do it:
How to automatically log into Windows 11
- Using the keyboard shortcut Windows+I or the Start button in the lower left corner, you may access Windows Settings. Next, select Accounts from the menu on the left.
- Choose the Login Options and confirm the functionality You should only enable Windows Hello sign-in for Microsoft accounts on this device (recommended) if you want to increase security. The slider to the right can be used for this. After completing this, the settings will function precisely as they did previously:
- Enter “netplwiz” into Windows’ Search tool (the magnifying glass next to the Start button). Click on the icon with two persons and a key in the search result.
- Take the cheque out of the box. To access the computer, enter your username and password and click Apply.
- You must now input your username, which can be either your Microsoft account or your local account. Enter your password and select “OK” to confirm. These details will automatically log you in the next time you start your computer.
