I’m not sure how things are in your house, but I believe my charging wires are stolen by gremlins that come out at night. They always disappear, and there’s no other explanation (cough cough). It can’t be my habit of lending things out or putting them in bags that I use only a few times a year and then forget about.
It’s not a terrible idea to stock up on charging cords, especially incredibly fast USB-C cables like this one from Anker, if you have gremlins like me. A pair of 3-foot cables currently costs $6.39, while a pair of 6-foot cables costs $8. Not terrible at all!
As long as you have a power adapter that can handle up to 60W of charging, these 60W USB-C cables will quickly recharge your devices. By the way, these are USB-C-to-USB-C, thus a USB-C power converter is required. They will last you longer because they are made of braided nylon, which makes them much more resilient to bending and twisting.
The shorter ones are OK if you prefer to charge gadgets at your desk. However, the longer ones can work better for you if you prefer to charge your phone while doomscrolling in bed.
Now that these Anker two-packs are even more reasonably priced, stock up on charging cables or replace the ones you currently own. It is up to you whether you choose the 3-foot cables or the longer 6-foot cables.
