With the arrival of the Nvidia RTX 50-series gaming laptops, PC gaming has never looked better. However, like many new devices, these are not inexpensive, or so I had assumed until I came across this laptop with an RTX 5060 that is now for sale.
This HP Omen 16 with an RTX 5060 is currently available at Best Buy for $300 less, making it $1,279. Since their launch, I’ve been sifting through gaming laptops featuring Nvidia’s newest GPU, and the pricing has been far higher than $1,500. Take a look at other RTX 5060 gaming laptops, such as the $1,659 Lenovo Legion Pro 5 and the $1,799 Asus ROG Strix G16.
Given that the HP Omen 16 also has an AMD Ryzen 9 8940HX, 32GB of DDR5 RAM, and a 1TB SSD, this incredible deal is a steal, and you’re getting next-generation PC gaming at an incredible price.
I had the opportunity to play games on an RTX 5060 gaming laptop, and I was amazed by the performance it could deliver even with its 8GB of GDDR7 video memory. This is mostly due to Nvidia’s DLSS 4 and multi-frame generation technology, which turns an entry-level, more affordable computer into a gaming powerhouse.
However, as previously said, the pricing of the RTX 5060 gaming laptops has not been affordable. However, if this is your first gaming laptop or you’re seeking to upgrade from an RTX 30-series setup, the HP Omen 16 in this deal finally makes these devices worthwhile.
The RTX 5060 may get over 190 frames per second with DLSS 4 multi-frame gen x4, even in games like Cyberpunk 2077 at 1200p with high settings. We’ve seen how the HP Omen Max 16 handles and declared it’s one of the greatest gaming laptops we’ve tried, and the cheaper HP Omen 16 looks to be no different with its comparable style but with pared-down specs.
The most recent AMD Ryzen 9 8940HX CPU will handle taxing jobs and multitasking, while a 1TB SSD and 32GB of DDR5 RAM provide quick performance for work and, of course, gaming. Additionally, the 16-inch 2K (1920 x 1200) screen with a refresh rate of 144 Hz is excellent for fast-paced multiplayer gaming and graphically demanding PC games.
anticipate high-quality graphics and fast frame rates (due to Nvidia’s AI boosts) at a more reasonable price range for a gaming laptop, but don’t anticipate the monster gaming performance of an RTX 5090. Don’t pass on the $300 discount on the HP Omen 16 if all of this appeals to you. Not only is that machine receiving a significant discount, but these RTX 50-series OLED gaming laptops are also up to $500 off.
