By Following an examination by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) that discovered more than thirty instances of fire and explosion accidents linked to the devices, Anker is recalling almost half a million of its power banks.
Anker Power Banks with model numbers A1647, A1652, A1257, A1681, and A1689 are recalled; these numbers are both engraved on the side or back of the power bank and can be found in the model listing. The impacted number is around 481,000 of these power banks that were previously sold.
In an advisory, the CPSC stated that consumers should visit Anker’s Recall Page to confirm the product serial number and register for the recall, as well as cease using the recalled power banks right away. Additionally, Anker maintains a distinct page for product recalls.
Some of the power banks that Anker voluntarily recalled in June are included in the recall; however, the Model A1263 Power Bank, which is not named in the CPSC recall, was also included in that recall. In September 2024, Anker also issued a recall for the A1642, A1647, and A1652 power banks.
The CPSC recommends against merely discarding the impacted battery packs. Because they represent a higher danger of fire, recalled lithium-ion batteries need to be disposed of differently than regular batteries, the government stated.
According to the CPSC, the impacted power banks were sold on AliExpress, eBay, Walmart, and TikTok between August 2023 and June 2025; however, Amazon seems to have removed them from its purchasing pages.
